Overview
My First Words is designed to help families capture and celebrate their child's language development. We take your family's privacy seriously. This policy explains how the App handles your data.
Data Collection
The App does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with us or any third parties. All data you create in the App stays on your device and, if you choose, in your personal iCloud account.
Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following data locally on your device:
- Child profiles (name and emoji)
- Audio recordings of words
- Photos you attach to recordings
- Word entries and milestone progress
This data is created by you and remains under your control at all times.
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud, your data is synced through your personal Apple iCloud account so you can access it across your devices. This sync is handled entirely by Apple's iCloud infrastructure. We do not have access to your iCloud data. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the App's settings.
Microphone and Photo Library
The App requests access to your device's microphone to record audio and your photo library to attach photos to recordings. These permissions are used solely for the features you initiate. Audio and photos are stored only on your device and in your iCloud account if sync is enabled.
Analytics and Tracking
The App does not include any analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks. We do not track your usage, collect device identifiers, or share any information with third parties.
Children's Privacy
The App is designed for use by parents and caregivers. It does not collect any data from children. All content is created and managed by the parent or caregiver using the App.
Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate with any third-party services, advertising networks, or analytics platforms.
Data Deletion
You can delete any recordings, photos, or child profiles at any time within the App. Deleted data is permanently removed from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, deletions will also sync to your other devices.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version here with an updated date.
